Andreas Templin (1975, Germany)

The artist whistles masterpieces by Bach. I enjoyed the contrast of the actualy play and the serious, classic music kind cover of the CD.

Andreas Templin:  “My starting point for an artwork often revolves around idioms of the mainstream-culture. My body of work is very divers. I have been making sculptures, videoworks, installations, photographs and publications. I do not follow a general leitmotif in my artworks. My work as an artist is rather guided by a critical idea-based process. When I decide to realise a new artwork, I expose myself fully to the specific mindset the realisation of this artwork is demanding. It is comparable to an actor studying a new role.
I like artworks which are visually appealing and slowly reveal the layered presence of ideas encapsulated within them. The thinking process guiding my artworks often evolves from the domains of schizoidity, doubleness and irrationality, the shuffles and interplays these domains are able to stage. Irony and humor often play a vital role in my artworks.”
